Hampton Routh, a masters student in East Carolina University, is studying the the various iron posts & rings on the Pampskatan peninsula on the tip of the Porkkala peninsula. His goal is to reconstructing how they might have been used in the transport of logs and/or log rafts along the southern Finnish coast. MAS's ontology research & establishing the Porkkala Wreck Park and the Maritime Archaeological Institute hosting it's first international field school in Porkala 2025 has signifficantly contributed to Hampton's research. First reports and publications expected in 2026.
